Frequently asked questions
What is a certified court transcript?
A certified court transcript contains a certification page at the back of the transcript that is signed by the Authorized Court Transcriptionist that prepared the court transcript. Certified copies of court transcrips are always required when being used in court, such as for an appeal, as photocopied transcripts are not permissible.
I see on the price list that there is no charge for an electronic copy?
There is no charge for an electronic copy of a transcript that is ordered at the same time as the original order. For example; if you only require an electronic copy and do not require a certified copy, you will still be charged at the page rate coinciding with how quickly you require your transcript. It is the same price to receive a certified copy PLUS the electronic copy as it is to just receive the electronic copy (excluding the Purolator fee for orders under $200)
How long does it take to receive a free estimate?
Once we have received all required information from you so that we can place an order to receive the recording(s) from your matter from the court location, it usually takes approximately 1 to 3 days for the court location to email the recording(s) to us. We will then prepare and send you the estimate by way of email.
Do I have to fill in the order form?
The process is quicker if you are able to complete all the information on the order form and send it to us, however, if that is not possible, if we have all of the required information either by email, text, or telephone, we would be more than happy to complete the order form for you.
Is there a deposit required before you prepare my transcript(s)?
We do not require a deposit from legal counsel or government agencies, but we do require a deposit from the general public before we will begin the transcription process.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit cards and email money transfers. From legal counsel and government agencies, we also accept company cheques.
Once the transcripts are completed, how will I receive them?
Upon completion and full payment (from general public) of the transcripts, your transcript(s) will be sent to you by email and any certified copies that were ordered will be sent to you by next day Purolator Courier service. There is no fee for Purolator if your order is $200 or over before HST. Our current Purolator fee is $7.00.
